Information We Collect
Zen Dhandho collects minimal personal information. When you interact with our website, we may collect:
- Email address — if you submit one through any signup form on this site: the homepage newsletter and sample-issue forms, the tool pages (Budget Compass), the Temple Depot notify-me form, or the Foundation worksheet downloads. We store the address, which page it came from, any campaign parameters in the link you arrived by, the consent wording shown to you at the time, and the timestamp. We use it for educational updates and to provide the material you requested. Worksheet downloads use a random access link that expires after one hour; that link contains no email address. You can unsubscribe at any time, and you may email us to have your address deleted.
- Usage data — anonymous analytics such as page views, browser type, and device information collected through standard web server logs and hosting provider tools
- Chat interactions — conversations with Sarah (our AI assistant) are processed to generate responses but are not permanently stored or linked to your identity
- Saved scenarios — when you choose to save a Pathway Planner or Budget Compass scenario to your account, your inputs and the displayed result are stored in our database and tied to your account. Saved scenarios are accessible only to you. If you do not save, no inputs are transmitted or retained beyond your browser session.
- Account credentials — if you create an account to save scenarios, we store your email address (in plain text, used to identify you), an optional display name, and a salted PBKDF2-SHA256 hash of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
How We Use Your Information
Any information collected is used solely to:
- Deliver newsletter content you have opted into
- Improve the website experience and educational content
- Monitor site performance and fix technical issues
What We Do Not Do
Zen Dhandho does not:
- Sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties
- Use your information for targeted advertising
- Share your email address with marketing partners
- Store financial data you enter into our calculators on our servers unless you explicitly save a scenario to your account
- Create user profiles or track you across other websites
Cookies & Tracking
Our website uses essential cookies required for basic site functionality. We also use tracking pixels from Meta (Facebook) and TikTok to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and understand how visitors interact with our site. These pixels collect anonymous data such as page views, tool usage, and conversion events. They do not collect personally identifiable information from our site.
You can opt out of tracking by using your browser's built-in tracking protection, installing an ad blocker, or adjusting your privacy settings on Meta and TikTok.

Data Security
We use SSL/TLS encryption to protect data transmitted between your browser and our website. We implement standard security practices including security headers, access controls, and regular monitoring. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Children's Privacy
Zen Dhandho's educational content is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Our Privacy Promise

Saved scenarios live in our database, accessible only to you, and are never used to train external models or syndicated to third parties. Zen Dhandho earns from affiliate partners and (eventually) premium tools — never from your data.
